Research & Development, one of the Group’s strong points, is concentrated in Isagro Ricerca, in which Isagro holds a majority stake.

During a product’s life cycle, R&D is in three main phases:

• Research into new active principles
• The development of the product to permit its commercial registration
• Defence of the product to maintain its commercial usefulness.

Isagro, in 2005, invested 10% of the turnover of its proprietary products in R&D, equal to €13 million.
Ninety researchers work in the Group’s laboratories, based in Novara at the Guido Donegani Institute. Here the Isagro Research Centre will soon be constructed.
